Photosynthetically Active Radiation (PAR)

Photosynthetically Active Radiation (PAR) is defined by the kind of light photosynthetic organisms can use to convert into chemical energy used for plant growth. This spectral range has been designated as 400 to 700 nanometers. When talking about light and plants, we should be talking PAR.

Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density (PPFD)

Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density (PPFD) is the field measurement of the number of photons (light) in the PAR range emitted each second over a one meter square area.
